ProBlocks Turns API Access Into Automatic Revenue With Live x402 Payments on Base

A verified USDC transaction and a listing in Coinbase's Bazaar catalogue mark the first production use of ProBlocks' payment protocol for AI agents.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- ProBlocks, a Nebeus Group product, charges automatically for every API call an AI agent or piece of software makes, settling in crypto or fiat so usage that used to go unbilled becomes revenue.

The company has now put that live with x402, the open protocol that settles payment inside the web request itself, with no person approving each transaction.

The ProBlocks integration
ProBlocks prices and settles every API call automatically, the moment it's made, with no one approving the transaction individually. A provider places it in front of an API, service, or model, connecting anywhere from zero-code proxying to full API control, so it fits into what a platform already runs rather than requiring a rebuild.

For developers, x402 brings payment into the API request itself: a compatible client first receives the service's payment requirements, then retries with a signed payment authorization. No separate ProBlocks subscription or API key is required; a compatible wallet funded with USDC on Base is enough to call it.

Pricing can be cost-based, usage-based, or outcome-based, adapting as throughput scales. Settlement runs on crypto or fiat, on payment infrastructure compliant in three jurisdictions: the UK, the EU, and Latin America.

Its initial public endpoint puts that live. It accepts 0.001 USDC per call on Base, making the full payment flow available for developers to inspect and test under the ProBlocks brand. The endpoint is also listed in Coinbase's Bazaar discovery catalogue, letting compatible agent tooling find it and read its payment requirements automatically.

A controlled mainnet payment on September 7, 2026 verified the full sequence, returning "pong," a UTC timestamp, and a payment receipt with a transaction reference checkable on the public blockchain.

The Growing Market for AI Agent Payments
x402 has moved from experimental standard to established infrastructure in its first year, processing more than 165 million transactions and gaining governance from the Linux Foundation, with backers including Coinbase, Cloudflare, AWS, Google, Stripe, and Visa.

Most of that volume runs through generic discovery layers and payment middleware. ProBlocks pairs the protocol with settlement infrastructure already licensed across the UK, the EU, and Latin America, positioning it as a payment layer other platforms can embed rather than build themselves.

"Every AI agent making a call to an API is a transaction waiting to happen. We built ProBlocks so that transaction settles itself in a compliant way, no invoice, no human in the loop, no new infrastructure for the provider to build.", said Konstantin Zaripov, co-founder of Nebeus Group.
